Mommy Moments This Weekend

IMG_8200 1. We couldn’t find matching shoes, but sometimes you just need to go go go!

2. I found a hot wheels airplane in the washer.

3. Before nap time today we were lying on my bed. I was reading and holding my little boy’s hand while he watched Daniel Tiger. I couldn’t take notes in the margin because he wouldn’t let go of my hand, squeezing it tightly to his chest.

4. I got jumped on, my head whacked, cried at, cried on, and begged to sing one more song at bed time. And I couldn’t leave because he kept saying, Don’t leave me, mama.

5. While cuddling with him and enjoying his little hands resting on my arm, my mind wandered to a time in the future when he won’t want cuddles or songs or toy airplanes in his pockets, and I felt grateful.

It was a good weekend.

I love this post. It reminds me to slow down with my little ones.

Thanks Amanda! I have been trying to slow down, too. He’s growing up so fast and I know I’ll miss this.

Thanks Jen! Well I don’t enjoy getting smacked in the head and the random screaming fits lol, but I sure love that little boy to pieces :) I do cherish the sweet moments with him. I’m trying to write about them more so I won’t forget. Thanks for reading!

Love these! I’m a sucker for these moments. My 4 year old told me this morning, “You look too much beautiful”, he melts my heart.

Awww. I don’t think you have to worry about that for a long while. I watch my niece (10) and nephew (7) cuddling with my sister and brother in law, and it makes me happy to think that it lasts at least that long.

This is awesome! You are one smart mama too. But, maybe it will be a little longer than you think. Our 8-year old still piles on my lap at church or when we sit on the couch to read a book – and his 6-year old sister does too. Sometimes its hard to breathe (!), but I let them do it anyway.

    Love the flip-flops! :)

    Thanks for sharing.

I really miss cuddling with my little ones. They don’t let me any more now that they are bigger.
